nahte
nahte is the other half of American Music group International Friends. He is a filmmaker, music producer and painter. Born and raised in Maine he now resides in California and Sri Lanka. What started out as all night Jam sessions in barns and basements in rural Maine during the mid 1990’s soon became an outfit when 15 year old nahte formed the band “Drip” a pyschedelic trio of bass, keyboards, and drums. The city called and nahte left Maine and “Drip” for New York City where he formed the art collective Amerika Multiwerks. After concentrating on painting and film for several years music took a back seat until he met Sebastian Demian and the two formed International Friends. Shortly after IFRIENDS finished their first studio produced album nahte released his debut solo album "Viper in a Pre Dawn Raid”. nahte’s debut feature film was the long anticipated bio pic on Lee "Scratch" Perry entitled The Upsetter: The Life & Music Of Lee Scratch Perry. Summer of 2008 saw nahte helm Red Apples Falling a long form music film staring Harlem rapper Jim Jones and executive produced by Damon Dash. His third film The Anti-Fascist is due out sometime in 2009. nahte has composed music for such feature films as Weapons, Bomb The System, Waterborne, Roundest Wheel, The Upsetter, and Red Apples Falling, has directed music videos for Damian Marley, Screaming Soul Hill and International Friends. In 2008 nahte released two high profile singles "Diary Remix" with Bay area rapper LiL'B from the The Pack and "Windblow" an electronic dub mix with good friend and mentor Lee Scratch Perry. nahte's paintings are shown and sold privately.
